German Stemmatics

Our Father Prayer

Here, there was discussion about the predicating verb getting the object versus the main stem. The argument for transfering the object to the predicate branch was that usually branches coming directly from the node can be put next to the verb to make sense becuase they are operating directly on the verb. Using this reasoining, we can say that the subject let in the robbers, he did not "has'ed" the robers. Thus, the object (robbers) falls under the predicate when there is a verbal compound and a nontransitive verb.

The 'mich' is not a dative, like to me, but is rather the object calling because it's transitive. Following the same structure as the preceding example, this predicating verb takes the object.
